Carolyn Drake began working with traditional
photography in 1990. She switched her path to the
digital portrait photography world in 2003. Carolyn
combines her work in photography with her career as a
midwife, which consequently helps her tap into the
human connection with mothers and families during a
portrait session.
Her love for photographing pregnant women, newborns
and those early, magical moments in a new families life
will be displayed in "Celebrating Motherhood," a
collection of pregnancy, newborn and family portraits
that she is still in the process of photographing. Her
goal with it is to spread awareness and openness about
pregnancy, breastfeeding and normal birth through art.
What she brings to your images is her love and personal
excitement for capturing the emotion and natural
beauty in people. Her lighting techniques and skills
have developed well in elegant and sophisticated
photography.
Carolyn has a Master of Arts degree in Women's history
and is a Certified Professional Midwife licensed in
Tennessee. She works in both midwifery and
photography as a way to merge her love for both.
